St Joseph's Primary 80th Anniversary

20 March 2018 | General Interest

train2Last Friday was an excellent fun day for everyone. The students enjoyed their ride on Puffing Billy through the beautiful Dandenong Ranges. It was the first time many had been on a steam train and they thoroughly enjoyed all the sounds and movement of this special little train. It was also great to see so many parents help and come along to share this time with us. The students loved their time at Emerald Lake walking around the area and playing on the equipment. All in all it was a wonderful way to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the school, doing something extra special together as a whole school community.

The celebrations continued on Monday 19th March with St. Joseph’s feast day. Students started the day with prayer and the unveiling of the new sculptures in front of the school hall. The day continued with special construction activities, jumping castles, a scavenger hunt and barbeque lunch. All students received a bookmark commemorating the 80th Anniversary.

The day ended with a special assembly where the drama group presented a play about the history of St. Joseph’s and classes presented samples of the work they had created.

Everyone has really enjoyed these celebrations and we thank all the staff and parents who have helped to make these days such a great success.
